WHAT IS THIS:
Huda Beauty Emerald Obsessions Eyeshadow Palette is packed with a selection of nine highly pigmented mattes and striking shimmers, all with a smooth and blendable texture.
Emerald has six duo-chrome and three matte shades in glamorous olive, pine, and gold tones.
Huda Beauty Emerald Obsessions Eyeshadow Palette has a mix of warmer and cooler-toned greens across three matte shades and six shimmers. With the undertones in the palette, the bottom row doesn’t quite jive with the top six shades as cohesively as it could, and I think they could have put in a deeper, matte green for greater contrast (what I felt I was missing when I was trying to use the palette) instead of shade #9 at the very least. The texture of the shimmery shades is denser and thicker, more silicone-heavy, whereas the mattes were thin and drier (not as velvety as past mattes in their Obsessions palettes), so it’s key to apply the mattes earlier on as they don’t layer as well on top of the shimmery shades.
HOW TO USE:
- Blend the shadows seamlessly together, using darker shades in the crease, and lighter hues along the brow bone and inner corners of the eye.
- Using a smudge or liner brush, apply one of the darker shades along the top and bottom lash line.
- With your ring finger, or with fixing spray on an eyeshadow brush, apply the shimmer shade to the center of your eyelid to amp up the glamour.
